Immersion Bible Studies: Apocrypha
Join us as we delve into a few of the Jewish texts written between about 250 B.C. and 100 A.D. that are considered ‘apocryphal;’ ‘apocrypha’ comes from the Greek word meaning "hidden" or "secret". Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch, I and II Maccabees - plus sections of Esther and Daniel were often considered without the same ‘authority’ as other books of the ‘canon’ (established books of the Bible considered sacred / genuine) and therefore not included in many of the Protestant versions of the Bible.
Purchase from your favorite bookseller. It will not be necessary to purchase a Bible with the Apocrypha; Pastor Susan will help you find the chapters needed.
